MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – The Special Development Fund- Project Management Office (SDF-PMO) participated in the Turnover Ceremony of the Traditional and Tribal Justice Hall with the Ministry of Indigenous Peoples’ Affairs (MIPA) and Commission on Audit (COA) BARMM at Barangay Badak, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, on May 16, 2023.
The establishment of the said project is significant for the protection of indigenous peoples’ (IPs) rights and culture. Its implementation will greatly assist in adhering to their customary laws and beliefs.
Arthor Ortiga Danao, chieftain of Teduray tribe from the said area, underscored that at least 70% of the total population in their barangay are Tedurays and the project will serve as a place for tribal gatherings including forums for conflict resolutions.
The Traditional and Tribal Justice Hall was funded under the FY 2020 SDF.
