𝗧𝗔𝗪𝗜-𝗧𝗔𝗪𝗜 – On May 27 and 28, 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) with LGU Sapa-Sapa and the Special Development Fund – Project Management Office (SDF-PMO) conducted an inspection and turnover of 5 sets of seaweed farm implements (SFI), 8,000 kg of seaweed seedlings, and 4 sets of seaweed nursery at Brgy. Palate, Sapa-Sapa, Tawi-Tawi. The recipients of the said project are the MILF combatants of Tawi-Tawi Integrated Economic Complex, Inc.
Another inspection and turnover of 16 sets of SFI and 22,500 kg of seaweed seedlings was conducted on May 30, 2023, at Brgy. Buan, Panglima Sugala, Tawi-Tawi . The beneficiaries are the Buan Seaweeds Farmer Marketing Cooperative members. They expressed their gratitude for the livelihood support program provided by the BARMM government.
After the turnover, an exchange of strategies and ideas was conducted to improve seaweed farming in the community. Moreover, the Municipality of Panglima Sugala was known as one of the top producers of seaweed in Tawi-Tawi.
Prior to the inspection and turnover activities, the team also had a courtesy call to Mr. Aidarus I. Nami, Ed.D., Provincial Director of MAFAR Tawi-Tawi.
The said projects were funded under SDF FY 2021.
