COTABATO CITY – The Special Development Fund-Project Management Office (SDF-PMO) spearheaded a coordination meeting for the fiscal year 2023, led by Director Melanie M. Indar, Director I of BPDA-PPB and Deputy Project Manager on Planning and Coordination of SDF-PMO. The meeting brought together SDF focal persons from various ministries, offices, and agencies (MOAs) within the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), held at Conference Hall 1, BPDA Building.
The meeting aimed to discuss the following agenda: a) Review and discuss the progress of SDF accomplishments over the past three years – 2020, 2021, and 2022; b) List of approved projects, programs, and activities to be funded under SDF for the fiscal year 2023; c) 2024 SDF Programming and d) Update on the status of the Bangsamoro Rebuilding, Rehabilitation and Development (BRRD) Multi-year Investment Program; and e) Other Matters.
During the meeting, Ms. Norsha L. Lao, EnP, Head of Planning and Coordination Unit of the SDF PMO and BPDA-Head of the Local Planning and Coordination Division (LCPD) stressed the importance of meeting timelines of project implementation and in timely submission of SDF Accomplishment report. She highlighted the urgency of submitting the 2023 SDF Work and Financial Plan as attachments to the approved project list for SDF FY 2023. This step aims to provide a comprehensive financial overview and ensuring responsible resource allocation.
The meeting reached an open forum where relevant issues and concerns were discussed. Director Indar responded to questions, explaining the SDF-PMO process in project prioritization and the need to fast-track project implementation.
The meeting ended with an agreement that the SDF focal persons shall initially identify their priority proposed programs/projects for SDF FY 2024 programming using the BRRD Multi-year investment program as their reference and also to submit their FY 2023 SDF Work and Financial Plan for submission to the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Management.
