𝗦𝗨𝗟𝗨 – As part of the livelihood support of the Bangsamoro government to the conflict-affected areas, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) conducted an inspection and turnover of 20 sets of Seaweed Farm Implements (SFI) together with the representatives of the Special Development Fund – Project Management Office (SDF-PMO) on May 24, 2023, at Brgy. Asin, Panamao, Sulu.
This project is one of the components included in the livelihood support provided by the ministry under Seaweeds “Euchema” Culture/Farming through SDF to the identified combatants of conflict-affected areas in Sulu.
Said inspection aimed to ensure that the seaweed farm implements and seedlings complied with company standards and sustainable practices. MAFAR also conducted a short session that provided tips on increasing yields and improving the seaweed’s quality.
Mr. William Badrudin, MILF leader and member of the Kabuhayan Fisherman Cooperative, expressed appreciation for the support and assistance provided by the ministry. They also agreed to use sustainable practices in their seaweed farming operations.
The said project was funded under the SDF FY 2021.
